Start of my 12 Week Body Transformation!

Today was a day I have been waiting for! Today was the day the 12 Week Body Transformation Round 3 Pre-Season Tasks opened and BEGAN!! I have seen results from friends on facebook and have been jealous that they had a trainer, eating plan and exercise plan made for them by a wonderful trainer Michelle Bridges! I look forward to losing those 10kgs (at the least!). Here is my introduction....

Hi everyone! I have heard so much about this program and have finally jumped off my butt (metaphorically atm...) and joined up. I am almost 23 years old and live at home. When I was a teenager, at school I was able to go shopping with my friends and buy clothes, at one stage in a size 8. Then I went shopping and it became a 10. And then a 12- which was perfectly fine with me! I was proud of my body. But then it turned into a 14 and the other day at Target the size 16 jeans didn’t fit me.....even though my other Target jeans are 13s! It cemented it for me that at my age, and in my job as a Primary School Teacher, I need to improve myself. I am a role model to these kids, yet they see me drinking my coffee and soft drink and eating chocolate and lollies. I don’t take them out for PE as often as I should, even though I know they need those 30 minutes each day. I don’t apply to help the school sporting teams, not because I am a size 14, but because I am unfit! I am here, yes to lose weight, but also to improve my health and fitness and my image to these kids. Our society can't go back to a healthy body image and size if the role models for these kids, the adults of the future aren’t healthy and have a positive body image.

So we shall see how this goes!

...Made from Stardust...

Last weekend I attended a seminar for my second theology course faith, revelation and theology, with a group of others also studying theology. I found the seminar to be an interesting mix of questions and opinions...some opinions that I think should have been kept to themselves! Today I have started to complete the course requirements by reading and posting on the streams but have also decided to keep a blog-like journal for my thoughts as I am guided through this course.
I enjoyed the seminar, particularly the way Dan posed questions and didnt answer them directly; making me think about the answers internally, yet not allowed to say them aloud... It was interesting to hear some people's questions about God and reasons to live as God's people. Yet I continually answered them in my head with "because if it wasnt supposed to happen, then it wouldnt have". As I read the first reading Made from Stardust I was so interested in reading the scientific reasons for how we came to be here. Yet at the end, of course from a theological background, it is all tied back to God.

Stars exploded, their elements spread across space, with gases they made up new stars, planets, and people. And therefore we are here today. We are made from stardust.
